Sprite Sheet to GIF

Convert a regular sprite sheet to an animated GIF in your browser. Cut the grid, select the animation frames, set the speed, and download a transparent GIF.

Upload an existing sprite sheet and cut it into individual frames.

Kenney · Platformer Characters · CC0. Two supplied poses, processed locally. Clear the example to use your own artwork.

Sprite sheet preview

Frames: 0

Upload frames to generate a sprite sheet preview.

Cut the grid first

Upload a regular PNG, JPG or WebP sheet. Enter rows and columns, or exact cell dimensions, margin and spacing. Select Split sheet to extract the frames in row order.

Choose one action

Set First frame and Last frame to isolate a walk, idle or effect. Inspect each pose, then play it. Already have artwork? This tool previews supplied frames; it does not generate new poses.

Download and check

GIF uses up to 256 colors and on/off transparency. Partially transparent pixels are thresholded; frame delays are rounded to 10 ms, with a 20 ms minimum. Keep your PNG originals for full-color engine assets.

Are my sprite images uploaded?

No. Slicing, preview and GIF encoding run in your browser. No account or AI credits are needed.

Can I choose only one row of animation?

Yes. Split the sheet, then set the first and last frame numbers. Numbering starts at 1 and follows rows from left to right.

Can I preview before exporting?

Yes. Play, pause and step through the selected frames. PNG sheets use the chosen FPS; decoded GIF frames keep their individual delays.
